QueryHorse is Targeted on Horse Information — Not on You.

Big, well-known search engines have recently highlighted personalizing "the search experience" for Web users. But, results of interest "just for you" comes at a price, because these engines can only refine their answers to you by learning more about you specifically. That means they're watching every search you make, associating it with you personally, and creating a user profile on you which they keep for future use.

They do this because they have both a problem and a profit opportunity:

The Problem
Because the big engines try to search everything and be everything to everyone, most searches you make are accompanied by lots of clutter. The big engines need to learn about you specifically or they can never focus their results on your interests. So, every query you enter is stored and associated with your Web address and wherever possible, with your name and address whether they ask you for it directly or can associate it with prior purchases or other databases.

Their Profit Opportunity
Advertisers and marketers will pay for this information because blanket advertising is less effective than ads targeted at those most likely to be interested in their products (and the government has its own way of demanding it once it's been collected).

QueryHorse respects your privacy by not collecting information on individual visitors. QueryHorse focuses on everything about horses and only horses, therefore, the "clutter level" in responses to queries is much lower. We don't need to know about you individually, because we know why you come to QueryHorse and share your interest in all things equine.
